If you are a director/owner of a company and have missed the annual return filing deadline you are likely to incur late filing fees and also loose auditory exemption for the following two financial years. This can have a significant cost impact on a small company.

Under Section 343 of the Companies Act, a company can bring an application to the District Court to apply for an extension of time to file the annual returns and thus avoid losing the two-year audit exemption.

The CRO will shortly recommence striking off companies that have not filed their returns so if you are in that category it is very important that you file your return or avail of Section 343 exemption.

If require any further information on this matter, please do not hesitate to contact Conor White or Brendan Dillon on 01 296 0666.
